At Lapoint, we want to share the stoke of surfing and help take your skills to the next level, all while having a lot of fun in the process. Ericeira, Portugal, has terrific waves, and in our courses below, you'll find a customized experience for your level. In other words, the perfect place for a surf holiday in Portugal where you’ll learn to surf with our professional instructors.

Beginner: No previous surfing experience is needed

Surf - Level 1

The Level 1 course is for those who have never surfed before and want to learn the basics of surfing in a safe and fun way. It's also a perfect refresher course for those of you who have surfed previously and want to get back on the board. In Level 1, our surf classes often take place by the stunning beach of Foz do Lizandro, right in front of the surf camp.

At our Level 1 course, you’ll master the basics of surfing, from catching whitewater waves to making your first turns. With expert instructors guiding you and the stunning Portuguese coastline as your backdrop, you’ll gain confidence and control in the water.

Ratio: Maximum 6 students per instructor

Lower intermediate: Around one week of surfing experience requested (~8 surfing days)

Surf - Level 2

The endless waves rolling into Ericeira’s shores make it perfect for those who want to take their surfing to the next level while enjoying their surf holiday. In level 2, we start to catch green waves.

Learn to paddle out to the lineup, position yourself at the peak, and ride Portugal’s iconic lefts and rights. With expert surf instructors and stunning Atlantic views, you’ll be catching unbroken waves and mastering turns in no time.

Ratio: Maximum 5 students per instructor

Intermediate: Around 2 months of surfing experience requested (~40 surfing days)

Surf - Level 3

For Level 3 surfers, this is the perfect place to level up your skills in the surf mecca of Europe. You'll practice navigating more challenging lineups, work on maintaining speed through green waves, and gain a deeper understanding of different break types. Ericeira offers the ultimate playground to boost your confidence and independence!

Ratio: Maximum 5 students per instructor

Advanced: Around 3 months of surfing experience requested (~65 surfing days)

Surf - Level 4

Ericeira’s world-class waves provide an ideal training ground for advanced surfers. At Level 4, you’ll get the chance to refine your technique on selected surf spots, working on powerful cutbacks, floaters, and snaps if you are aiming for it.

With our expert instructors, you’ll focus on reading the waves, improving your timing, and adapting to different conditions. By the end of the course, you’ll have sharpened your skills and gained more confidence in challenging waves!

Surf Guiding

Surf Guiding — Hit the right spot at the right time

Anyone who has ever been on a surf trip knows that it takes time to figure out a new place. To know what spots work best at what tides, swell and wind directions.

The Surf guiding is our way to help get it right instantly and to reduce your need for a rental car. Our aim is to find fun waves that allow you both good wave count and quality walls. We will take crowds and waves into consideration and look for fun and rippable rather than big and hairy. From Carcavelos to Peniche.

No equipment is included in this pack, so you must bring your own surfboard. You also need to be an advanced fully independent surfer with a minimum of 600 hours of surf experience.

Don’t want to fly with your surfboard? Skip the transportation hassle and rent a high-performance board at our Ericeira camp, Quinta Lizandro.

We’re renting out boards for experienced surfers who want to tackle knee-high to head-high waves, complete with board bags, leashes, and fins. Contact us to book your preferred board for your surf trip, whether for a day trip or a longer stay.
