Lineage and Dojo Masters - Taisen Deshimaru
Master Taisen Deshimaru was a great figure who brought Zen Buddhism to the West, and especially to Europe.
🙏 A disciple of Kodō Sawaki, a respected Zen master and university professor in Japan, Taisen Deshimaru arrived in Paris in 1967 with the mission, in accordance with his master’s wishes, to spread Zen throughout the world. He summed up his duty with these words: “The seed of Zen was planted in India, the tree grew in China, it bore fruit in Japan, and now that fruit is reaching Europe to be eaten.”
