Ericeira Yoga Studio was created when Joana Cadete moved from the azorean islands to the mainland, always seeking to create a familiar environment, cozy and adequate to Yoga, close to the Ocean that she loves. She has been surfing for 30 years and teaching Yoga for more than 20.

Ericeira Yoga Studio, created in 2009, was the first space in Ericeira totally dedicated to the teachings of Yoga. It is composed by a team of experienced and certificated teachers, has all the necessary material for the practice, and offers classes of different yoga styles, to all ages, so that each student can choose the one that best suits their needs.
Initially the studio was at Ribamar, between Coxos and São Lourenço beaches, a quiet and pleasant place, where she welcomed children and adults that wanted to practice and know more about Yoga.
In 2017, Joana moved the studio from Ribamar to the center of Ericeira, a space more accessible to all, in a calm area, inspired by the energy of the ocean, 5m walking distance, and colors of this beautiful village.
The aim continues to be the teaching and sharing the practice of Yoga, both as an art and a life style conducive to holistic health, well-being and self-knowledge.

Joana Cadete passions are family, Yoga, Surf and nature, the main reasons why she chose Ericeira to love. She is a certified teacher by Centro Português de Yoga (3 years teacher training course), and Yoga Alliance as Senior Teacher. She has also certifications in Yoga during Pregnancy, Ayurvedic and Thai Yoga Massages, among others.

To start with Ashtanga Mysore you don’t need any experience. You will be individually guided according to your own level. In these classes you will learn the fundamental postures of the Ashtanga Yoga sequence and the correct breathing technique.
Mysore style is a traditional yoga system from south of India where breath and asana’s (postures) are linked in what is called the vinyasa system. Here, every movement has a specific breath and counting. Every Mysore practice is taught on an individual basis but simultaneously every student is supposed by the group energy of the other students in the room and the guidance of the teacher. The practice is designed and adapted for all levels, all generations, people with injuries and is also suitable during pregnancy.
VINYASA

Vinyasa is a method of Hatha Yoga Yoga style where every movement is synchronized with the breath. The quality of the breath is the core of all poses and moviments. All the body is approached with an integrative vision but also each class, each sequence, focus on a particular area to be released. The classes comprises breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation.
Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic Yoga style where every movement is synchronized with the breath, creating a moving meditation. Through funny and invigorating sequences, you will get flexible, strong, but also balanced and relaxed. Get ready to move, breathe, sweat and challenge yourself!
AERIAL YOGA

Aerial Yoga is an innovative way to practice yoga on the ground and in the air with support a special hammock.
This practice help us to go deeper in each asana/posture and explore advanced posture more easily.

vinyasa 30' + Yin 30'

For those who appreciate the combination of a more dynamic and activating practice with a regenerative and relaxing moment.
These classes are an opportunity to explore meditation in movement during the Vinyasa practice in the first 30 minutes of the class, combining it with a more intimate dive of reconnection with our inner space provided by the Yin practice in the remaining 30 minutes.
RESTORATIVE / YIN

Classes to recovery, and re-connect with ourselves. Slow movements, poses supported by props/materials, allowing the body to open, release, relax, gradually and naturally, harmonizing the effects of stress and intense physical or mental activity. The emotions express themselves and the mind finds a peaceful state.
These classes prepare us to deep relaxation and meditation.
PRENATAL YOGA
Prenatal Yoga is a traditional yoga practice composed of a mixture of asanas, prānāyāma and specific relaxation techniques, brought together to take the pregnant woman to a stage of balance, self-awareness, physical strength and mental peace. Yoga brings calm, strength and balance to the pregnancy adventure and the classes adapt Yoga postures to suit each stage of pregnancy.
Yoga means union within us, with our soul and with the supreme soul, in pregnancy the concept of union and bound is extended to the life growing inside the mum, therefore to the baby soul; but not only, also with the intention of uniting more women who are in the same phase of their lives, a moment that is so special and transformative but sometimes challenging.

There comes a time in our Yoga journey when we feel the need to take the next step.
In these classes we delve deeper into the various Hatha Yoga techniques, such as kriyas, asanas, pranayama, mantra, meditation and vedanta (teaching tradition) to enter deeper into the experience of Being, towards moksa - freedom, a change of the vision of oneself.
It is an integrated and multidisciplinary path of purification, self-knowledge and spirituality.
These classes are in Portuguese and for students who have been practicing yoga with Joana regularly for at least two years, as well as teachers.
